We are dedicated to protect our seniors from COVID-19
Here in Shelter Island Homecare Agency, we are proactive in supporting our clients and their families during this difficult time of the pandemic. We encourage families to take this into account when considering ways of providing care for your loved one to stop the risks of acquiring or getting infected with COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
What do we do to protect our clients and caregivers?
We want to ensure the safety of our clients and caregivers alike.
We send communications on regular basis regarding protocols in keeping them safe outside, in their homes, and the homes they work and visit, securing testing and medical supplies and COVID-19 vaccination based on the CDC guidelines.
We also provide supplies and PPEs for each of our client’s homes for our caregivers to use.
When taking referral for home care services, we follow screening activities prior to accepting new admissions and referrals for care.
We identify patients at risk for having COVID-19 infections before home visits. We determine their current quarantine or isolation status and screen them prior to the delivery of services to protect our caregivers as well.
We work with the local Department of Health to ensure the required patient care.
Our caregivers are required to do PCR testing each time they came from an extended work off-days especially when they travelled on locations on the CDC advisory list or even if they have completed the full vaccination dose.
We encourage our clients and caregivers to be vaccinated to lessen the risk of spreading the infection.
We are still unsure when the pandemic will end, but we want to ensure that our clients and caregivers are safe and risk-free.
Because in Shelter Island Homecare Agency, you’re not just a number… you’re family!
